The City of Miami Parks Department invites residents to pack a picnic basket and their portable chairs for a free outdoor movie at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Fern Isle Park, 2201 NW 11th St. 
The Fresh Air Flick will be Twilight.
“Dive-in” movies at Grapeland Water Park will begin in April.

Free Family Fun Day at museum

The Historical Museum of Southern Florida will focus on community crime-busters at the museum’s free Family Fun Day from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 13.

Free kids’ crafts workshops at Lowe’s

Every other week, Lowe’s hosts free make-and-take crafts for kids. During these Build-&-Grow clinics, kids can try their hand at putting together a variety of simple projects.
The next workshop will be Saturday, March 13, when the kids will build a tabletop basketball game. On Saturday, March 27, the project will be a kaleidoscope.

Miami Art Museum free for families

The Miami Art Museum is free for families from 1 to 4 p.m. the second Saturday of every month.
The free monthly program features hands-on activities for children and adults. Second Saturdays also include occasional live music, storytelling, guided tours, gallery games and dance performances.

Carnaval on the Mile in Gables

Coral Gables will be the site for nonstop free music Friday through Sunday as Carnaval on the Mile sets up stages in multiple locations.
The festival begins with a kickoff concert at 7 p.m. Friday, March 5, at Ponce Circle Park. Friday is also Gallery Night and Giralda in the Park.
