Free New Year’s Eve bashes

You can see in the New Year with free fireworks in either Miami or Miami Beach.

Miami will host a free New Year’s Eve disco dance party with DJ Tarik from 8 a.m. to midnight at Bayfront Park. “Big Orange” will ascend the side of the Hotel Intercontinental, reaching the top at midnight when there will be a fireworks display over Biscayne Bay.

Miami Beach will have free fireworks on the beach at Eighth Street at midnight. Miami-Dade Transit’s South Beach local bus will be free to all from Thursday, Dec. 31, to 10 am. Friday, Jan. 1. Ocean Drive will be pedestrian-only from 7 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, to 7 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 3.
