Free Latin jazz, kids’ carnival

Miami Dade College’s Kendall campus is having a free Latin Jazz Fest and an almost free kids’ carnival as part of its Fall Fest this week.
The jazz fest, at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at the campus’ Fred Shaw Plaza, will feature Arturo Sandoval, Nestor Torres, Albita, Ed Calle, Roberto Perera, Richard Bravo, Negroni’s Trio, Los Herederos, Palo!, Sammy Figuero, Edwin Bonilla, Paquito Hechavarria, Cheito Quiñones, Federico Britos snf Jeff Carswell. Admission is free, but you must get a ticket in room 3129 or the Student Life Office, Room 100. Information: 305-237-2321.
The carnival for children of all ages will be 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at 11011 SW 104 St., on the athletic field. Activities will include enjoy carnival rides, bounce houses, slides, pony and train rides, a rock climbing wall, bungee jumping, stage performances with clowns and dancers, a children’s health pavilion and more. Admission is $1 or a can of nonperishable food for adults. Children under 18 are free.
