fireworks2Tons of free fun is planned in Miami-Dade on Saturday, July 4. Here are a few of the larger celebrations:

* Coconut Grove plans to party all day. A scavenger hunt for painted coconut begins at 3:15 p.m. A free concert at Peacock Park is at 4 p.m., with music by Ryan Stone Music, First October, JT4 and Campo Deluxe Jazz Quartet. Fireworks start about 9 p.m. A street party goes on into the night and the next day. The Coconut Grove Chamber of Commerce has all the details, including hotel specials for those who want to stay over.

* Miami Beach: Fireworks display at 9 p.m. at Eighth Street and Ocean Drive, plus an all-day expo on the beach.

* Key Biscayne Fourth of July Parade starts at 11 a.m. on Crandon Boulevard. The Old-Fashioned Picnic follows on the Village Green. Fireworks at the beach begin at sunset.

* Bayfront Park, Miami. America’s Birthday Bash includes fireworks shot from a barge in Biscayne Bay at 9 p.m. Food and beverages for sale, free Kids’ Zone 3 to 7 p.m.

* Hialeah. Free concert by Carlos Oliva y Los Sobrinos del Juez at 6:30 p.m., followed by laser show and fireworks display at Milander Park, 4700 Palm Ave.

* North Miami: Event starts at 6 p.m. with concert of patriotic songs by the North Miami Community Concert Band and games for children, ending with fireworks at 9 p.m. at FIU’s Biscayne Bay Campus, 3000 NE 151 St.
