'This operation will be good for you,' Big Brother counsels Little One.
Miami-Dade Animal Services provides free spaying and neutering for cats starting at 8 a.m. every Thursday at the shelter, 7401 NW 74th St.
The service is for Miami-Dade residents only. Cats must be in carriers and must be at least 2 months old. Those over 4 months must have proof of current rabies vaccine (which the county administers for $10).
There is a limit of four cats per household, and cats should not have any food or water after 9 p.m. the night before. Feral cats will be ear tipped.
The shelter also microchips pets for $10, no appointment necessary.
