* MomsMiami.com is having a free ”Moms Morning Out“ 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 30, at Cafe Bambini, 3073 NE 163rd St., North Miami Beach. While the moms hear from parenting expert Maggie Macaulay of Whole-Hearted Parenting, kids can have fun in the play area. Use this coupon to get in free, and RSVP here.
* Author Liza Gyllenhaal will discuss her first novel, Local Knowledge (Penguin, $14), at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at Books & Books in Coral Gables. Yes, she’s related to Jake Gyllenhaal and Maggie Gyllenhaal, but what’s more interesting is that she gave up her successful advertising agency to write full time.
* Arts in the Parks presents Animate Objects Physical Theater’s Journey to Atlantis, free performance of a spectacular underwater journey with aerialists and stilt walkers, at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at Flaming Park at 12th and Meridien, Miami Beach.
* Popular musicians Afrobeta and Steph Taylor and the State Of will perform at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at Sweat Records 5505 NE 2nd Ave., Miami. Admission is $5.
