In an effort to help control the cat overpopulation problem in Miami-Dade County, the Animal Services Department, Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet, the Cat Network, South Florida Veterinary Medical Association and South Florida Veterinary Foundation will join forces to offer free spay/neuter services for cats all day Sunday, March 22, at the clinic at 10700 SW 211 Street, Miami.
The services are free, but cat owners must make an appointment by calling 305-805-1603 between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. weekdays.
Owners must bring proof of current rabies vaccination for cats over 4 months or the cats can get a free rabies vaccine the day of surgery. Feral cats and those who go outdoors will be ear tipped to identify them as sterilized.
Local veterinarians will donate their time to perform the procedures.
